چکیده
We point out that argumentation presented in [Phys. Lett. A 417, 127699 (2021)], leading to the conclusion periodic systems there is a superselection principle forbidding two different Bloch states form coherent superposition of fixed phase, unjustified and false. As an example, we show operator projecting selected Wannier state can be experimentally utilized determine relative phase between superposed states. In this way argue that, fact, non-existence aforementioned manifested always when localized measurements are performed, for example state-of-the-art experiments with ultracold atoms confined optical lattices.

How do jurors argue with one another?
We asked jurors awaiting trial assignment to listen to a recorded synopsis of an authentic criminal trial and to make a choice among 4 verdict possibilities. Each participant juror then deliberated with another juror whose verdict choice differed, as a microcosm of a full jury’s deliberation. Analysis of the transcripts of these deliberations revealed both characteristics general to the sample ...
متن کاملDisease Interventions Can Interfere with One Another through Disease-Behaviour Interactions
Theoretical models of disease dynamics on networks can aid our understanding of how infectious diseases spread through a population. Models that incorporate decision-making mechanisms can furthermore capture how behaviour-driven aspects of transmission such as vaccination choices and the use of non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) interact with disease dynamics. However, these two interventi...
متن کاملOn Bloch Waves for the Stokes Equations
In this work, we study the Bloch wave decomposition for the Stokes equations in a periodic media in Rd. We prove that, because of the incompressibility constraint, the Bloch eigenvalues, as functions of the Bloch frequency ξ, are not continuous at the origin. Nevertheless, when ξ goes to zero in a fixed direction, we exhibit a new limit spectral problem for which the eigenvalues are directional...
متن کاملDo Small RNAs Interfere With LINE-1?
Long interspersed elements (LINE-1 or L1) are the most active transposable elements in the human genome. Due to their high copy number and ability to sponsor retrotransposition of nonautonomous RNA sequences, unchecked L1 activity can negatively impact the genome by a number of means. Substantial evidence in lower eukaryotes demonstrates that the RNA interference (RNAi) machinery plays a major ...
متن کاملA Fluorescent One-Dimensional Photonic Crystal for Label-Free Biosensing Based on Bloch Surface Waves
A one-dimensional photonic crystal (1DPC) based on a planar stack of dielectric layers is used as an optical transducer for biosensing, upon the coupling of TE-polarized Bloch Surface Waves (BSW). The structure is tailored with a polymeric layer providing a chemical functionality facilitating the covalent binding of orienting proteins needed for a subsequent grafting of antibodies in an immunoa...
